What is Feminine Rejuvenation?
Due to aging, childbirth, weight gain, and menopause, many women experience changes in the appearance and sensation of their labial and vaginal structures. Many women feel that their vaginas are “loose,” and dry, often reporting trouble achieving orgasm. In some cases, women feel that their intimate relationships have suffered due to the changes in their bodies.
Feminine rejuvenation seeks to tighten the vagina and labia, revive sensation, and restore appearance. The overall effect typically generates a younger appearance, along with a tighter “feel,” increased sensitivity, and greater moisture. Many women have found feminine rejuvenation to improve their attractiveness, confidence, and enjoyment of intimacy.
After just two treatments for ThermiVa with Dr. John Lipman, I feel like a new woman. My confidence has been boosted, I have regained pleasure from having sex, and believe me, my husband is happier too. The procedure was super fast-I even had one done on my lunch break. I saw a huge difference, even after the first treatment. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to feel new again without surgery. ~ Sunshine on RealSelf.com
How is Rejuvenation Achieved?
Ten years ago, rejuvenation was possible, but often involved surgery, anesthesia, or uncomfortable procedures. Today, feminine rejuvenation is available using a simple, comfortable, non-surgical procedure. ThermiVa, a procedure using safe and gentle RF (radio frequency) energy, has been embraced by the medical community as an effective and comfortable experience that many women describe as “life-changing.” ThermiVa produces gentle, warm energy that causes rejuvenation without the use of surgery or needles.
Does ThermiVa Really Work?
Both doctors and patients have praised ThermiVa for its ability to rejuvenate the labia and vagina. Women who have completed the procedure rave about the positive results they have experienced after receiving the ThermiVa procedure.
Are There Any Safety Issues?
Since its inception, ThermiVa has a proven history of being safe, causing no significant complications. There have been no reported cases of burns or lesions caused by ThermiVa. Since you will be fully awake during the procedure, you will be completely in control, and able to inform the Doctor or technician if you should become uncomfortable. ThermiVa is a painless procedure, so no needles are used and no pain killers (narcotics) are necessary. Patients can therefore drive themselves to and from our Center. A few patients experience a mild cramping during the procedure which resolves within 24 hours.
How Many Treatments Are Involved?
Initially, there are three 30-40 minute treatments involved, spaced four to six weeks apart. After the third treatment, some women choose to repeat the ThermiVa treatment within the first year, and continue with “touch-ups” as needed.
How Soon Will I Feel a Difference?
Most women feel a modest difference in sensation and tightness during the first two weeks after their first treatment, and feel a significant impact by their third treatment. Tightness is usually the most noticeable sensation after the first treatment, while an increase in moisture production is gradual, and will often be more noticeable after the second or third treatment.
Is There a Recovery or “Quiet Period” After the Treatment?
Most women are able to resume normal activities immediately after their ThermiVa treatment, including activity, work, and intimacy. Because the treatment is not invasive and does not involve injections or even minor surgery, there is typically no after-treatment reaction to ThermiVa.
What Actually Happens During the Procedure?
ThermiVa uses a sterile, single-use applicator designed to comfortably treat the labia and vagina. The applicator is fairly thin, about the size of a pen, but curved and rounded to avoid any irritation or discomfort. Warm gel is applied to the applicator which is then gently placed on your skin and inside your vagina. You will be fully awake during the procedure, and will be reclining in a comfortable treatment chair with stirrups. There is no pain, just a mild sensation of warmth. You will feel the physical presence of the applicator without any feeling of being stretched or forced. You will find your ThermiVa experience to be pleasant and comfortable, very different from your yearly visit to a gynecologist.
Where Do I Receive the Procedure?
Your procedure will take place in a private room that is specially designed for procedures like ThermiVa. There is no need to go to a hospital or surgery center. Dr. Lipman maintains a private radiology lab in a beautiful office park, so you will be able to park in front of our building and walk into our friendly office. Most patients find our office suite to be a relaxing and healing place that is comfortable and convenient.
